PSMLA Pre-conference Workshop
This year the Association of World Language Educators (AWLE) is partnering with Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association(PSMLA) to offer the pre-conference workshop at the PSMLA Fall Conference. The pre-conference workshop will be held on October 5, 2017 (and the conference from October 6-7, 2017) at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey.
The theme of the pre-conference workshop is Connecting the Standards: Approaching Communities, Cultures, and Communication through Everyday Activities. You will go home with strategies for engaging students, families, schools, and communities to promote the continued study of languages and will receive ready-to-use tools that connect the target language and cultures to all stakeholders. The workshop will provide ample time to collaborate with peers, plan lessons, and create new materials. In the afternoon, the group will be transported for a tour of the Capitol Building and an opportunity to interact with state officials.
The pre-conference workshop is a great opportunity to learn new ideas and strategies, collaborate with colleagues, work on plans and activities for use in your own classroom, and network with educators from other schools.
Visit the PSMLA website and conference description for more information on the workshop and the conference and to register. Advance registration ends on September 18, 2017, so register today! Act 48 hours are available.
