PSMLA Teacher of the Year

This award honors a PSMLA member who has demonstrated excellence in world language education and is willing and able to represent the profession regionally or nationally. The awardee will participate in the NECTFL Teacher of the Year selection process and, if chosen, advance to the ACTFL level.

Nomination criteria and application

Submit application materials to awards@psmla.org between February 1 and March 31. The Awards Committee will respond by May 1.

PSMLA Outstanding World Language Educator

This award recognizes PSMLA members whose careers have exemplified excellence in world language teaching and who have made significant contributions to the world language profession. It is awarded to both K-12 and post-secondary educators.

Frank Mulhern Leadership Award

This award honors a PSMLA member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the world language profession and made significant contributions to the work of PSMLA.

Candidates must be current PSMLA members with at least ten years of membership and continued engagement in the profession. Relevant contributions may include board service, conference presentations, curriculum development, advocacy work, and other leadership activities at the state, regional, or national level.

Recipients are invited to attend the awards luncheon at the annual PSMLA conference, where they will be presented with a plaque.

PSMLA members may submit names of nominees for this award to awards@psmla.org between February 1 and March 31. The Awards Committee will respond by May 1 with a request for additional information.
