Mead Innovation Fellowship

This fellowship supports an individual in the development of a project that contributes to the world language teaching profession and advances quality language instruction. The program was created to develop innovators for the profession at the state, regional, and national levels.

Educators of all languages at all levels are encouraged to apply to this program, designed to identify innovative leaders and to support the development of their specific projects. The fellows must teach in the Northeast region. Each fellow is assigned a mentor with expertise in the area of that fellow’s project, and NECTFL will facilitate virtual and, if possible, face-to-face meetings.

Mead Fellows receive support in attending the NECTFL Annual Conference the year they are named and the following year, where it is expected they will present their project.

After reviewing the information and ensuring that you will be able to attend the NECTFL conference and complete the requirements, email the application to cherie@psmla.org. The application period is September 15 to November 1. All applicants will receive a response by November 15.

Applicants must be PSMLA members at the time of application and maintain membership during the fellowship period. Voting members of the PSMLA Executive Council will only be considered if there are no other viable applicants. This fellowship may only be granted once per member.
