PSMLA is pleased to partner with Xperitas to offer an annual $250 grant for world language teachers. This grant supports efforts to enhance existing programs, implement new initiatives, and promote the study of world languages.
« Xperitas is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that has been providing students with educational language and cultural immersion experiences since 1972. Xperitas has provided teachers and students with a transformational educational experience for over fifty years. We share our founder’s passion for creating the best language immersion travel programs. Our philosophy is that giving students an authentic experience outside of the classroom, within a culture other than their own, creates greater cultural awareness, which is vital in an increasingly globalized world. »
PSMLA members teaching at the PK-12 level in schools with demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply for a $250 grant to support classroom or program expenses. One grant is awarded annually. Applicants must obtain prior approval, as funds cannot be applied retroactively. The application requires a description of the proposed program, its anticipated impact on student learning, and a plan for implementation.
Recipients are invited to attend the awards luncheon at the annual PSMLA conference, where they will receive the grant check.
By the end of the school year, recipients are expected to submit a brief video highlighting program outcomes. View examples from previous grant recipients.
The application will be available from August 1 to September 10. The Awards Committee will respond by October 1. Questions can be directed to awards@psmla.org.
In order to verify your membership status (paying member) to apply for this grant, you will need to log in to your PSMLA account.
