Dr. Mercier, of Harvard, discussed 'The oral expression method of teaching foreign language.’ He expressed the fear (still with us in 1949) that languages are in danger of being replaced by more ‘utilitarian’ subjects. He said the fundamental question is social: ‘Can all children profit by these studies?’

2020 IUP Spring Methodology on Foregin Language Teaching

Consider submitting a proposal for the 2020 IUP Spring Methodology on Foreign Language Teaching to share with your colleagues what you do best in your foreign language classes. Conference sessions may focus on any topic related to language pedagogy. Sessions should be non language-specific and feature general strategies/approaches that can be incorporated into any foreign language classroom. |
