Coffee Hours in French and Spanish are back!
PSMLA is pleased to continue to offer an opportunity to engage in the target language with your colleagues across Pennsylvania.
Coffee Hour Goals
-Film discussions in French and Spanish to improve proficiency in the languages.
-Films will provide the context for participants to expand their knowledge of Spanish/ French speaking cultures, history and literature.
When & Registration
-Every other month, from 4 to 5.
-2nd Wednesday: French, October 11: Register here
-3rd Wednesday: Spanish, October 18: Register here

Support the World LEAP Act
Did you know that JNCL-NCLIS is proposing a new initiative to provide funding to establish and/or improve world language programs and to strengthen the world language teacher pipeline? Here is a link to an infographic explaining the World LEAP Act. Please feel free to forward this link to your local legislators to inform them about this act and to ask them to support the initiative.
Hispanic Heritage Month Resources
Did you know that you can find a wealth of resources for Hispanic Heritage Month on the PSMLA webpage? Click on the Resources tab and then click on “Teacher Toolbox.” You will then see “Hispanic Heritage Month” which includes links to articles, videos, activities and more.
The Stahle Professional Development Scholarship for PA World Language Educators is accepting applications!
The purpose of this scholarship is to support Pennsylvania K-12 world language teachers or teacher candidates in their pursuit of lifelong learning through conferences and workshops specifically designed to address world language education.
Read more details and information, and consider applying for funding to attend the PSMLA Annual Fall Conference, an upcoming workshop, or other world language inservice or conference.

Antietam Middle-Senior High School has an immediate full-time opening for a world language teacher. The students have been learning Spanish, but the district is willing to consider any language cert.
