This October PSMLA will host its 100th conference! 

How has your attendance at a PSMLA conference influenced your planning, preparation, and teaching? What have you learned at a PSMLA conference that has influenced your classroom, your department, or your students? How have PSMLA and its conferences contributed to your professional growth?

To help Pennsylvania Language Forum (PLF) commemorate PSMLA's many years of dedication to world language education, support, and professional development, please consider answering some of the above questions in an article submission to the 2019 issue of PLF. Visit the PSMLA website for more information, including submission guidelines. 


AWLE Spring Workshop

The Association of World Language Educators (AWLE) is pleased to invite you to its annual spring workshop! It is scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 8:45am to 12:45pm in the Media Center of Manheim Central High School.

The focus of the conference will be Maximizing Our Resources , and our presenters are prepared to share some of their favorite ideas and strategies with you for making the most of your classroom materials.

Modern Languages Anniversary Symposium

The 100th  Modern Languages Anniversary Symposium will be held on Friday, February 22nd, at the Cohon University Center. It will briefly highlight some of the work we've done recently in four major areas of strength: Learning Culture Through Reading; Digital Technologies for Second Language Research & Teaching; Multilingual Communities; & Community Engagement. PSMLA Immerstion Day

PSMLA will host their annual Immersion Day on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia from 8:30AM to 2:00PM. Teachers of Chinese, French, German, and Spanish will have opportunities to interact with colleagues on topics related to cultural themes in the target language. In addition, teachers of all languages will explore Teaching with

Comprehensible Input (TCI). Sessions will include modeling comprehension-focused interaction around PictureTalk and personalized questions and answers (PQA in the world language classroom . The presenters for this session are Anny Ewing and her team from TriState TCI/Altamira Language Learning, West Chester Springs, PA.

Attendees who are PSMLA members will be able to earn five hours of ACT 48 credits. The cost is $35 for PSMLA members, $45 for non-members, and $20 for students with college identification. Please note that these fees include a continental breakfast and international luncheon as well as access to exhibitors.
