Using the Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA) to Improve Learning and Instruction

In this workshop, Bonnie Adair-Hauck, Ph.D., co-author of the ACTFL publication: Implementing Integrated Performance Assessment (2013) will present an overview of the ACTFL Integrated Performance Assessment at the Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels. The workshop will provide participants with recently developed and expanded guidelines for how to design cognitively challenging IPA tasks.  Suggestions on how to provide effective feedback and modeling to improve learner performance will be shared. Workshop will also include a re-conceptualized rubric (2013 version) for the interpretive mode and the addition of IPA rubrics for Advanced level language performance.  Participants will begin to design integrated performance assessment tasks for use in their own classrooms using teacher-tested templates.
