Event Description

Join us for an engaging morning of professional learning at Dickinson College. This interactive workshop will focus on strategies for integrating art in the world language classroom. Attendees will take a guided tour of The Trout Gallery, Dickinson’s on-campus art museum—recipient of the 2017 PSMLA Merit Award and 2018 NECTFL Dodge Award. To preview the exhibits on display, visit The Trout Gallery homepage.

Attendees will first tour the gallery in French, German, or Spanish. The docent will lead activities that teachers can use in a museum or in their classroom to communicate in the target language with art as inspiration. Following the tour, PSMLA Vice President Mike Bogdan will facilitate an interactive session on harnessing the free Google Arts & Culture platform across languages and levels. Table talks on implementation and idea sharing will take place over lunch.
