Pennsylvania Language Forum – Call for Submissions
Do you have an especially engaging lesson? Have you found a tool that enhances your practice? Is there a program you´ve developed that you’re proud of? PSMLA invites members to submit articles, lesson plans, and research related to the enhancement of world language education.
The editors are currently accepting submission for the fall edition.
Members are encouraged to submit their entries by August 1.

The Nancy Zimmerman PSMLA Scholarship for Beginning Teachers
A scholarship to attend the 2025 PSMLA Fall Conference in Bethlehem, PA is available for teachers within their first 5 years of teaching. The scholarship will pay for registration and rooming for 2 nights. Visit the PSMLA website for more details.
PA Seal of Biliteracy Reporting Form for High Schools
If your high school students qualified for the PA Seal of Biliteracy, please complete this PA Seal of Biliteracy reporting form so that you, your school and your students get recognition for their amazing accomplishment. The form will be open through July 31, 2025 so that you can also include your students who qualify for the PASB with the AP World Language Exam.
Global Seal of Biliteracy Reporting Form for Higher Education
If your college or university students qualified for the Global Seal of Biliteracy, please complete this form so that you, your institution and your students get recognition for their amazing accomplishment. PSMLA will be collecting the data through July 31, 2025.
Advocacy needed for world language education
The Dept. of Education is delaying world language funding for educational programs such as Title II-A, Title III and Title IV-A. This will cause significant disruption to school budgets. Please take 30 seconds to add your name to this letter which will be sent to your local legislators asking them to support the release of funding for FY 2025 and to continue funding world language programs for FY 2026.

Global Perspectives On The Future of Foreign Language Teaching In K-12 Education
Announcing a professional development webinar facilitated by Auburn University. This webinar, to take place on July 9, 2025, is designed to be a hands-on workshop to provide language teachers with knowledge and skills in integrating Artificial Intelligence into the language classroom, building advocacy for language instruction, building collaborations and student study opportunities overseas, and developing other important skills. Representatives from key embassies will identify curricular and teaching resources for use by teachers.
