IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Foreign Language Teaching: Call for proposals

**DEADLINE APPROACHING**

Do you have a great classroom activity that shows what your students can do? Have you been working on something unique or innovative in your classroom?

The Conference Committee of the IUP Spring Methodology Conference on Foreign Language Teaching invites you to submit a session proposal for our conference, to be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex (KCAC) on the main campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Conference sessions may focus on any topic related to language pedagogy. Sessions should be non-language specific and should feature general strategies/approaches that can be incorporated into any foreign language program. Language-specific examples may be used in the session. Conference sessions are one hour in length. Proposals that include “hands on” participation are strongly encouraged.

Deadline for submission is August 18, 2017.

Full call for proposals is available online:  http://www.chss.iup.edu/spanish/methodsconf/Call-Proposals.html

Support ACTFL's Lead with Languages campaign!

ACTFL needs our help in raising money for its Lead with Languages initiative, which is aimed at making language proficiency a national priority.

ACTFL seeks to raise $1 million dollars to qualify for a matching grant from the Mellon Foundation.  They've already raised almost 2/3 of the funds, but still need more support. Please consider making a small donation on your own, or forwarding this request to any companies or organizations that would want to lend a hand.

These funds will help further Lead with Languages' activities including events, digital initiatives, educational materials, and of course our website - a hub of valuable resources where we also share news about upcoming opportunities and celebrate the successes of students and other language advocates in their communities.
